Region 6 P2 Roundtable - Oklahoma City

24th Annual Region VI Pretreatment Association Workshop - Oklahoma City

August 11,2008 until August 14,2008

The Region VI Pretreatment Association in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the states of EPA Region 6 hold their 24th Annual Pretreatment Workshop. The workshop will be held on August 11, 2008 through August 14, 2008 at the Sheraton Downtown in Oklahoma City.

This workshop will feature courses such as Pretreatment 101, Pollution Prevention 101 and 201, along with updates, information, and open forums about various Pretreatment issues. In addition, an optional tour of a major printing facility in Oklahoma City will be offered.

TCEQ 2008 Public Drinking Water Conference: Information and Tools for Public Water Systems and Utili - Austin

August 19,2008 until August 20,2008

The 2008 Public Drinking Water Conference is a FREE, two-day seminar designed to provide information relevant to public drinking water systems and water utilities.

TCEQ Water Supply Division representatives will give presentations on a wide variety of topics including drinking water regulations, upcoming rules, operations, rate making, CCNs, district applications and new technology.

Staff from the TCEQ Water Supply Division will also be available to meet on an individual basis with water system operators, consultants, utility and district managers, directors and others. If you are an operator, local municipality, industry, water district, water supply corporation, investor-owned utility or other drinking water stakeholder, this conference is a must. Water system operators can receive general training credit toward the renewal of their water operator license from the TCEQ. If you attend only one conference this year, make it the TCEQ 2008 Public Drinking Water Conference!

The Waste Reduction Policy Act (WRPA) requires pollution prevention planning for some facilities*, but how do you get the most from your pollution prevention (P2) plan? If you are composing a new P2 plan or renewing your P2 plan, you have an opportunity to:

  Increase Efficiency

This workshop is presented by the Zero Waste Network in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Presenters from both organizations will give you strategies on how to improve efficiency while decreasing or eliminating pollution. Experts in pollution prevention, environmental management systems (EMS), environmental regulations, and energy efficiency conduct an interactive workshop with classroom exercises that will help you use P2 strategies to improve your bottom line.

Workshop topics include: 1) pollution prevention requirements, 2) how to win over management, 3) hazardous waste basics, and 4) how to develop and plan your P2 program.
