Following are a set of P2 options you may wish to implement. No option is perfect for everyone, but sometimes options that have worked at one facility can work at yours. They might also serve as inspiration.

Unreviewed Options, Use with CautionUnreviewed Fiberglass Pipe Manufacture Options

Options below have not been reviewed by pollution prevention specialists. They are commonly recommended and implemented for facilities.

Resin Mix/Application
Assess amount of resin left in bath after filament application AND reduce amount of resin mixed per application run.

vent emissions from winders to RTO
Emissions from the winders will be vented through to the regenerative thermal oxidizer.

Formulation Change in Matrix Pouring
The trend in manufacturing is towards the use of polyester resins with reduced styrene content. As of the beginning of this 5 year period, Austin Counter Tops uses a resin with 27.9% styrene. Emissions can be reduced by approximately 2 tons over 5 years with a 5% decrease in styrene content.

Chemical selection
The proper selection of chemical binders and mold washes can reduce the amount of HAP- and non-HAP- VOC.
