Unreviewed P2 Options
for the
Recycling Waste Solids Process

Following are a set of P2 options you may wish to implement. No option is perfect for everyone, but sometimes options that have worked at one facility can work at yours. They might also serve as inspiration.

Unreviewed Options for Recycling Waste Solids

Following are a list of options that have been submitted by users of the pollution prevention planner. They have not been reviewed by pollution prevention specialists.

These options are presented so you can see what people in facilities are considering. As with any option (reviewed or unreviewed) you will have to adapt it to your facility.

Recycle Floor Sweep

Evaluate option of recycling oily floor sweepings into road aggregate via a recycling company.

Feed fines to reduce waste residuals

Feed off spec solids into process as opposed to initially screening them out in order to reduce residual wastes, as applicable. Processed off-spec materials will be screened out post-process, as required.

housekeeping

Salvage overspill material from floors and equipment by sweeping and screening activities. Use salvaged materials back into blended product after analysis and screening.

Baghouse Suction for dust reduction

Dust particulate collection from packaging processes should be collected then processed back into like production for recycling.
