About RENEW
BackgroundRENEW—the Resource Exchange Network for Eliminating Waste—is a materials-exchange network established by the Texas Legislature in 1987 to promote the reuse or recycling of industrial wastes. In 2007, the Zero Waste Network expanded RENEW to encompass the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 6. RENEW is a marketing channel for industries, businesses, and governmental units that want to sell surplus materials, by-products, and wastes to users who will reclaim or reuse them. Use RENEW to Save Money
Background InformationOn July 13, 2007 Thomas Vinson-Peng gave an overview of the project to several stakeholders in the region. You can contact the Zero Waste Network for more information on this project. How to Use RENEWListing a Material Available/WantedSelect Add/Edit Listing from the menu and create an account (or enter your account ID and password). Enter the material you have available or the material you are looking for as well as the quantity and location. Each material listing will be assigned a unique code number and will contain your contact information, which will allow for one-on-one contact – reducing the response time and eliminating a significant amount of paperwork for both you and RENEW. Confidential ListingsAn option for confidentiality is offered for each material entry. If you choose to list confidentially, RENEW’s contact information (not yours) will appear in your listing. The RENEW coordinator will notify you of any inquiries regarding your listing. Responding to a ListingIf you are interested in responding to a particular listing, simply call the contact person whose name and contact information appears with the listing. If a listing has chosen to list materials confidentially, use RENEW’s contact information. The RENEW coordinator will forward your inquiry to the company, who will then contact you. RENEW does not participate in any negotiations. Information provided through the RENEW Catalog is supplied by the lister of the material. The exchange is not responsible for any warranty, expressed or implied, as to the accuracy of the material description, services and/or products, the suitability of a particular use, or the merchantability of any material offered through this catalog. It is the legal responsibility of each party to determine whether a listed material is a hazardous waste or a hazardous material. Hazardous wastes must be managed in accordance with all relevant hazardous waste regulations and laws. RENEW is not responsible for the determination of what may constitute a hazardous material or hazardous waste or create a hazardous situation. RENEW reserves the right not to list a material, to delist a material, or edit information provided by the listing party. Once you and the one who has listed the material have discussed the exchange, please let us know the results by filling out the online Successful Exchange Form Partner ProgramsThe following programs are participating in RENEW by reviewing listing and/or promoting the program to facilities.
