Description:

Reduced energy consumption and CO2 generated at off-site power plant.

P2 Application:

Upgraded lighting in production facilities to more efficient designs. Original light fixtures were HPS (high-pressure sodium) lamps. We replaced these with T5HO fluorescent fixtures. Tools used included our predominate-use study, GE-EPACT05 and Project ROI tool. The predominate-se study helped identify large users of electricity. EPACT05 provided additional calculation tools and energy consumption rates and light output of fixtures. Project ROI tool assisted in calculating the difference in energy costs and return on investment.

  • Total Cost Savings: $141,500.00
  • Comments: All lighting upgrades resulted in a payback period of less than 1 year. Savings were calculaed at a rate of 12 cents per kWh at the time of installation and may vary depending on rate fluctuations.

Details of Reductions

  • Electricity
Comments: Reduced electrical usage by 1.18 million kWh
