Description:

Prevention of fugitive losses during transfer of chemicals between storage vessels and transportation containers.

P2 Application:

In two of our newest manufacturing units closed-loop systems have been designed and constructed to recycle vapors from the volatile liquids being pumped from tank trucks and cars to storage tanks, and visa-versa.

Environmental Benefits:

It is estimated that by using this vapor recovery system Sandoz has eliminated the release of approximately 10,000 pounds of VOC chemicals a year due to fugitive emissions of vapors.

Details of Reductions

Additional Information :

Since the vapors are recovered, the purchase of raw chemical feedstock is reduced. This saves Sandoz approximately $5,000 a year.
