Description:

Used solvent is sent to our manufacturing facility in the form of a substitute for a commercial product. All solvents from pilot plant operations, scale-up, and glass washing operations in labs are segregated and collected to be returned to the refinery for reprocessing. Lab-to-lab audits were performed to ensure acceptable materials were segregated for this process.

P2 Application:

The project required personnel training and lab-to-lab audits of the 450 labs. It also included additional communications of electronic mail and newsletters to convey the best methods of material segregation in order to maximize the benefits of resuse

Environmental Benefits:

The project eliminates waste disposal of 800 tons of material and provides profit to the manufacturing facility. The purity level of material cleans the manufacturing lines and tanks.
