Description:

A-Z Terminal is a storage facility for oil and gas pipes and casing. In addition, the company performs cleaning, cutting and threading of pipes. The company has used scrap truck tires filled ( in situ) with cement as foundation for pipe storage platforms (piles). The process involves laying down scrap tires on a leveled designated storage area in rows and pouring them with concrete. After consolidation of concrete, wood bridge timbers are placed on the top of tires and pipes are placed on the top of bridge timbers. Approximately 33,000 tires have been reused and were prevented from going to the landfill.

Environmental Benefits:

By reusing scrap truck tires as a foundation for pipe storage platform the company has prevented the disposal of 33, 000 tires into a landfill.
