Description:

Installed 1 aqueous parts washer to replace PD-680 cleaning of parts. Installed digital x-ray equipment which replaces generation of liquid waste during NDI of parts and components. Installed dehumidifiers in special storage facilities to greatly reduce frequency of required solvent cleaning of parts and equipment.

P2 Application:

Equipment provided through the Navy Pollution Prevention Equipment Program (PPEP).

  • Total Cost Savings: $62,000.00
  • Comments: Saved approximately $4,000 in first year by switching to aqueous parts washer. Saved approximately $40,000 by switching to digital x-ray equipment. Saved approximately $18,000 in the first year by installing dehumidifiers.
