Description:

In early 2000, Nucor was paying licensed oil haulers to recycle and/or properly dispose of used oil generated on site. Oil was being mixed with water/glycol in the shop work area lowering oil to little or no value.

P2 Application:

We were able to address this by educating our employees and contractors to the issue. Then giving them the tools to segregate high water content glycol from used oil in containers at the Lube Shop. The higher quality oil brings a higher market price.

  • Total Cost Savings: $1,526.00

Details of Reductions
